Xobni vs. Gist- Mobile

Xobni literally just released their Blackberry Application last week:

http://www.xobni.com/learnmore/mobile

While the Desktop Version is designed to work in conjunction with your Outlook Address Book, this mobile version is designed to completely replace your existing Blackberry Address Book.

  • It will show you a contact's LinkedIn profile
  • It will show you their Facebook Status.
  • It will tell you when the last time you emailed/called/text'ed them was.
  • It ranks your contacts in order of importance.
  • It will display the contact's photo from either their LinkedIn or Facebook profile.
    • But it won't let you choose which photo.

Sounds great, right?   This information is only available their this particular application, which is synchronizing with their cloud-based database.  Unfortunately, it will not put this same information in your local Blackberry address book.  Instead of being an independent piece of software, I think it'd be nice, if possible, to integrate it into the actual Blackberry Address Book.

On the other hand, Gist currently does not even have a mobile version available; at least none that I could find.

Winner: Xobni
